Vintage Danish 1960s Madsen & Schübel Leather Swivel Armchair with Ottoman for Bovenkamp
A superb Danish lounge chair and ottoman designed by Madsen & Schübel for Bovenkamp, dating from the 1960s. An excellent example of high-quality Scandinavian design, built to last and exceptionally comfortable.
The chair features a smooth swivel base and a tilt mechanism, with a matching tilting footstool, allowing for a very relaxed seating position. Upholstered in thick hide leather, hand dyed to a warm tan colour with a beautiful patina and depth of finish. The leather has aged very well and adds real character to the set.
Both pieces are supported by solid rosewood legs, showing lovely colour and grain. Generous in size, comfortable and well balanced, this is a timeless and highly usable vintage design.
Good vintage condition overall, with light age-related wear consistent with age.
